RAYMOND VOTER INFORMATION PROJECT 2013 VOTERS' GUIDE

THE RAYMOND VOTER INFORMATION PROJECT
Box 813 Raymond, NH 03077
www.raymondvip.org

Hello!

Please help us spread the word about Raymond VIP by forwarding this e-mail
or printing it out for your friends and neighbors. We are a small group of
citizens who’ve taken on an extraordinary task. We provide every Raymond
household with a voting guide to local elections every March.

Our town has no print newspaper.  Our town and school voting guides are
limited by law as to what they can include. Few voters have time to watch
every government meeting on channels 22 and 13.  The ballot is brief with
no room for depth.

Raymond VIP fills the gap. For three years our guide has provided the
freedom of choice that comes with complete information on both sides of
issues. Our guide does not endorse candidates or take sides. We believe
government works best if every citizen has the facts and votes.

We need your time and we need your financial support.   Please act today.

If you can do research, interview, and write, join Raymond VIP and
participate in our upcoming training.  We need reporters to gather
information, readers to test for clarity, and editorial committee members
to make sure the guide is factual and not biased. You will learn a lot,
make your own voting decisions more confidently, and know you are making a
difference for other voters.

If you believe that elections are about more than yard signs, sound bites
and someone else’s recommendation, please make a tax-deductible donation,
today. Raymond VIP is a nonprofit corporation and a charitable trust. We
are an IRS 501(c)(3) organization

Printing and mailing the guide to all Raymond households and PO boxes
costs about $1,800 every year. We also maintain a website, a post office
box and have administrative expenses like state fees.  We have no paid
staff.

Please support the Raymond Voter Information Project by mailing your
contribution and/or membership dues today to Raymond VIP, Box 813, Raymond
NH 03077. ($20/$10 for additional family members/students). Our Treasurer,
Marilyn Elliott is happy to answer questions (895-4084).   See
www.raymondvip.org for more information. If you wish to unsubscribe,
please reply with “unsubscribe” in the subject line.

Sincerely,
Gretchen Gott, President

How to Write an Effective Citizen's Petition Warrant Article

Press Release: April 26, 2013

Raymond--The Raymond Voter Information Project congratulates Beth Cope of Raymond whose winning entry in the Raymond VIP Voting Guide Survey was drawn recently at Dudley-Tucker Library.  Beth chose a gift certificate from Lowe’s. Carey Oak, Store Manager at the Lowe’s Epping location, generously donated the prize on behalf of Lowe’s and in support of Raymond VIP.

The survey was developed for the Raymond Voter Information Project through a grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation with the assistance of the University of New Hampshire Survey Center which is in the process of tabulating the results.

Thanks to all who returned the survey.  If you are still interested in providing feedback on the 2013 Raymond VIP voting guide, or interested in commenting on why so few citizens vote in local elections, write or Raymond VIP at info@raymondvip.org  or Box 813, Raymond NH 03077.  You may also phone 895-4084 or 244-2027. Your name will be kept confidential.

Raymond VIP thanks the many citizens, town officers, town staff, and others who helped produce the voting guide again this year. Raymond VIP has no paid staff and is completely supported by donations. Registered Raymond voters are welcome to volunteer to help make the voting guide happen again next year.  Raymond VIP is a 501(c)(3) organization registered with the State of New Hampshire and with the Town of Raymond as a nonprofit corporation. Donations are fully tax deductible.
