Planning Board (14 years, three as alternate);
READ program at an area library and various school board committees

2011 Question (limit 100 words): How would you reconcile your personal views with your function as a member of your board/office and your charge to represent the best interests of all Raymond citizens?

School Board members receive a weekly packet of information. I read this packet in preparation for meetings and may seek additional information from other sources. At the meeting, I listen to reports from District staff, listen to input from the community, and participate in discussions with fellow board members while asking many questions. Throughout this process, I strive to remain neutral. I do consider professional and life experiences to help in the decision making process, but my decision is based on the facts of each case/topic. Only when all the information has been gathered, do I make a decision.
