Candidate Name: Harry McClard

Seeking the office of: Budget Committee

Term of Office: 3 years

Years/months as a Raymond resident: 7 years

Prior experience in municipal service (limit 50 words): To date, mostly behind the scenes as time permits with organizations such a Pro Portsmouth, Special Olympics, and others, plus some work helping organize industrial development and sister city in one case.

2011 Question (limit 100 words): How would you reconcile your personal views with your function as a member of your board/office and your charge to represent the best interests of all Raymond citizens?

With respect to the budget committee: I am a “fiscal conservative, social moderate” with about 25 years of experience as vice-president or president of companies with operations in multiple countries, quite versed in budgeting and planning. I am now a Raymond small business owner. People in public service bring their own values, experience, and abilities to the table, but personal views have to be in second place to the law, public will, and what is best for all.
