Special Meeting

Text of 2011 Town Warrant Article 6

If the collective bargaining agreement in Article 5 does not pass, this article gives the Town the authority to call one special meeting, at its option, to address Article 5 cost items only.¹

A YES vote allows the Town to call one special meeting to address costs.

A NO vote means that there can be no special meeting.

Reasons why some voters might vote yes:

• Gives the Town the opportunity to renegotiate the contract and present it to the voters.
• The Town could hold a meeting without having to petition the court, thereby saving legal fees.

Reasons why some voters might vote no:

• An additional meeting would cost approximately $1,200 if a simple ballot rather than printed ballots are used.²
